Getting ready for repotting

Hi!

Two of this years' varieties are in their final pots since today. It's the Trepaidero Werner and Peru Yellow. Trepadeiro means climber or climbing, so I'm expecting this one to be tall, or at least "climbing". It seems to be a fast growing baccatum. Originates from Brazil.

I will get back with more pictures of the peppers. Here are some pots that I cleaned today. Getting ready for repotting. 20 more chile pepper varieties to repot this year. I wonder if I have enough pots... Or space...

Take care,

Mung beans and chick peas

Well, maybe this is not a recipe. But I need to share this anyway. I was so happy when I found packages with 5kg of chick peas and mung beans :-)

Perfect for curries, soups, sprouts, spicy, and ayurvedic dishes!

More peppers and repotting the old ones

Hi!

10 varieties have already germinated. According to my old notes, that is pretty quick. I've become interested in growing according to the phases of the moon. Being a beginner in that field, I think that I started the seeds at the right time. A couple of days before full moon. More about this later...

The varieties that have germinated are:

  • Peru yellow
  • Dedo de moca
  • Chiltepe Guatemala
  • Fidalgo roxa
  • Habanero Red
  • Piriz
  • Trepadeiro Werner
  • Cheiro roxa    chinense
  • Congo yellow
  • Habanero orange

I started a few more today.

  • Aji dulce, Cuba
  • Tepin amarillo, North Mexico
  • Wild Brasil
  • Kauto, hot habanero, Nicaragua
  • Orange Malawi

Now I think I'm pretty happy. And won't start any more peppers for this year :-)

Here are the small ones. Under artificial light.

Have a great weekend!

So actually, there is not so much to say about the starting-the-pepper-year-procedure :-) I let the the pictures talk for themselves.

Dedo de moça

Hi!

These dedo de moça look like the ones I've been growing for 15+ years. But they are slightly hotter. Or actually, more than slightly. But they are delicious.

We had these on crisp bread for lunch. Wonderful :-)

Wishing you a great weekend!
