Cumari flowers

Hi!

It's been a nice day! I got some pictures of my cumari flowers.

I still don't really know the species. The flowers do look like baccatum, but I'm not completely convinced. There is something about the shapet that is different.

Anyway, here are five different flower pictures :-)

Hi!

This is my overwintered cumari. I got the original seeds from Salvador in 2001. The seeds that this plant originate from are from a plant back in 2006.

I like this one a lot. It is quite different compared to other plants that I grow. The stem and branches break more easily.

It does not show very well on these pictures, but the flowers look a little different compared to the other ones as well. At first glance, I would guess it's a baccatum. But it could also be an eximium I'm not sure.

The pods are not very hot, but have a nice heat. I enjoy them most when they are dried.

More about this fantastic plant later on. I will try to get a closer picture of the flowers tomorrow.

Not many left to repot now

The chile pepper year 2012 is progressing! Today I repotted three more in bigger pots.

From left to right - Canario, Indian frutescens and Cumari (Salvador).

I have not decided yet. But maybe the canario will get an even bigger pot. Either that one, or a nice baccatum that can grow really big. We'll see later....

Three more

Three more varieties showed up today!

It's my old favorite that I call "Patricia". It's really a pimenta cambuci, but I call it Patricia because it's a variety that she brought from Brazil. It's a mild very nice variety.

And then I'm very excited to see that the cumari seeds from Salvador showed up! This is how the mature pods look like.

Sometimes the seedlings don't drop the seed, and gets stuck. If the dry seed is not removed, it might cause the seedling to die. So it needs to be removed. My eyes are not that good, but Patricia has been doing some "surgery" tonight :-)

Plan "C"

Well, it looks like many of my old seeds won't germinate. I sure want some more varieties than I currently have... So I'm activating Plan "C".

Today I started some other old favorites.

• Bod'e (C. chinense)
