Brasil
Hmmm. Time obviously flies. I found this blog post in "draft" mode. This is a picture of a variety that I brought home from Brasil.
I think it will be one of the varieties on my grow-list for 2014. It looks great!

Goatsweed
Hi!
I keep my goatsweed in our kitchen window hoping that it will survive the winter. Looking at it at night under the extra lights, it is spectacular!
Look at this hairy stem. It's a Capsicum annuum, but has some of the characteristics of a pubescens.
I think that we will have fresh harvested goatsweed for lunch tomorrow.

More from Brazil
More Brazilian varieties.
A mix of this and that. Here are som dedo de moca. Most of the dedo de mocas I tried were milder than the ones I have grown at home. I don't know why. They look the same, but the difference in heat level is very much noticeable.
Some malaguetas in the middle. A habanero in the back. And probably some other varieties. I got them all mixed up and the kind friend who gave them to me didn't separate them. Simply called them "pimentas" :-) Makes it more excitng for me :-)
I will see which condition they are in. Maybe I can sample some of them. They don't look super fresh...

Malagueta
I realize that I'm not completely trustworthy when I say "THIS IS MY FAVORITE"....
But malagueta is really one of my favorites.
The taste is great. It's good dried. It's good in olive oil.
And I think it's a beauty. Loot at the long stem on this picture!
And here. I think that it indicates a philosophy or opinion. Something like "I don't care what you think, I'm doing what I feel like :-)"
I brought these malaguetas from Brazil, so I didn't grow them this year. But maybe I will grow the seeds from them in 2014. Who knows. I haven't decided yet.
Wishing you all a nice week!
